CARBON ARC CUTTING

Carbon Arc Cutting or Air Carbon Arc Cutting is the process of cutting and melting metal by the heat of a carbon arc. The molten metal is then taken off by a blast of high velocity jet of compressed air. This differs from plasma arc cutting because it uses an un-constricted arc, separate of the jet of air.

Carbon Arc Cutting can be used to cut or gouge most common metals. It can also be used to remove defective metals or welds to repair or dismantle equipment and welding grove preparation. The most common metals used are aluminum, copper, iron, magnesium, stainless steel and carbon.
